SOS Children’s Villages International (SOS) is a global not-for-profit organisation that provides family-like care to children and youth without parental care, or who are at risk of losing it. Its work is carried out across 135 countries and encompasses personal development, education and healthcare, protection during crisis and disaster as well as advocating for the interests and rights of children, youth and families around the world.

As a federation of approximately 40,000 people, it became imperative for SOS to improve the efficiency of its services across many domains, including fund management, program management, grant management, human resources and performance tracking. As part of its strategic plan, the organisation set a goal to enlarge the scope of its IT landscape and gain efficiencies across the organisation through the implementation of digital technologies and the automation of standard processes.

Avanade – the leading digital innovator in the Microsoft ecosystem – and SOS have entered into an agreement to improve the efficiencies across the federation. SOS wants to streamline its operational processes within the organisation and with its donors and beneficiaries, namely, children and youth.

Avanade recently founded its Technology for Social Goodbusiness, with the goal of becoming a trusted advisor in the non-profit sector by providing relevant, innovative, and affordable solutions. The company will bring its deep knowledge and expertise of the Microsoft stack to implement Microsoft Dynamics 365 for SOS.
